Wet Weather Buggy Tips

Golf Buggy One Tree Hill

We have had a wet old time this week, so it seems like a good time to go through some wet-weather buggy driving tips.

  • If you are lucky enough to have a buggy with ‘clears’ (plastic flaps) then zip them up! If not, then a beach towel tucked in the glove-box will be handy for wiping down the seat – just don’t forget to take it with you!
  • Take special care if you are driving a petrol buggy as they can go quite quickly down the hills, making it easy to skid when braking.
  • Turn your air-conditioning off (see: ‘Buggy Know How’) . It seems like an easy thing to remember but I do know of one person (who will remain nameless) who got out of her buggy at the General Store absolutely soaked, and told her friend that her buggy only had half a windscreen… It was, of course, just folded down!
  • Slow down! It takes a bit of time to get used to driving without wind-screen wipers. Visibility is reduced, so keep a special eye out for children and other pedestrians.
