Hamilton Island Triathlon’s Biggest Supporters

These great pictures were taken at the Hamilton Island Triathlon in November 2011. More than 400 athletes participated in the Fujifilm Hamilton Island Triathlon and Whitehaven Beach Ocean Swim last year.
As they do each year the Island community turned out to support, including Hamilton Island State School. These pictures show students cheering on competitors outside Wild Life Hamilton Island complete with their home-made signs of support.
The run leg up past the school grounds had the kids on the water station with some bleary-eyed parents (the race start was 6.30am!).
The 2012 event will once again see Hamilton Island hosting five challenging events held over the two days:
- Hamilton Island Triathlon
- Junior Hamilton Island Triathlon
- Whitehaven Beach Ocean Swim
- Junior Whitehaven Beach Ocean Swim
- The Dent Dash
