Romano’s Italian Dining

Romanos Italian Restaurant

Dine in the early evening to catch a glimpse of the marina at sunset

My new favourite place to dine on the island is Romano’s. In fact we have eaten there twice in the last month! Both times we have taken the children early in the evening and enjoyed a lovely Italian meal. Romano’s has a great Italian inspired menu for adults with kid’s options too. All that plus a gorgeous location beside the marina – I love it!

I can’t go past the entrée of Zucchini Flowers though the Beef Carpaccio is lovely too. The Gnocchi con Tartufo is a favourite with mushrooms, baby spinach and pinenuts, as is the Spring Bay Mussels. I can’t resist the Panna Cotta either. So much for my will-power! The kids are fascinated by the fresh grated parmesan that comes via a foot-long grater.

The Romano’s dining room is on a covered timber deck sitting above the water in the marina. It is a popular restaurant for group bookings, and caters for children easily in the early evening. I love being able to go out for a nice dinner when we are on a family holiday with the children, and we all get to enjoy our meal!

If you are able to leave the kids at home (or grab a babysitter from the Clownfish Club) then Romano’s is lovely. The newly refurbished bar is a great spot to wait for your table, and a candle-lit corner is the perfect romantic setting later in the night.

Romano’s are open for dinner from 6.oo p.m. and has a BYO wine option if there is a special bottle you want to share (a corkage fee applies). It is a favourite on the island so make sure you give them a call to reserve your table. You can find Romano’s on Front Street beside the florist.

TIP: Romano’s does take-out! At least a dozen of their menu items are available for take away. Give them a call on 07 4946 8212 or 58212 from a house phone.
