Casual Pizza Dining at Manta Ray Café Hamilton Island

Manta Ray Café is on Front Street overlooking the marina. It is a great spot to watch the sun set from the bar or from a table on the deck. Manta Ray serves café style meals, but my top pick is the pizza.

They have a great range of toppings and if you can’t agree what to have, go for a half-and-half option. My favourites waver between BBQ Chicken, Satay Prawn and a traditional Margarita.

I had a debate with a colleague as to whether the pizzas might be too laden with toppings, and I will concede that if you are a purist you might prefer them a little lighter. However I would have to rate my BBQ Chicken, well laden with ingredients, a very firm 9 out of 10.

There are two other good reasons to hit Manta Ray. Firstly, if you are staying on a “Kids Eat Free” package, Manta Ray is a participating restaurant. Secondly, Manta Ray delivers! There is a $5 delivery charge, and deliveries can be any time between 6p.m. and 9p.m. Manta Ray will deliver to almost all Hamilton Island accommodation.

Of course you could just get a take-out pizza and head up to One Tree Hill to watch the best sunset in Queensland.
