Kerry Sea Designs
I caught up with Louise at the Hamilton Island Gallery last week to see what events she has coming up and was excited to hear that Kerry Alexander of Kerry Sea designs is arriving on island soon, and offering classes through the art gallery.
Kerry lives on a boat near Mackay and uses the creatures of the Great Barrier Reef as inspiration for her watercolour paintings, fabric and digital designs.
I first encountered Kerry Sea in the Hamilton Island Design store, where her prints are featured on bags, towels, sarongs and scarves. Lou also showed me a range of greeting cards that are beautiful and striking. I hear that the Hamilton Island Design Store is about to stock a range of clothing featuring the designs – perfect for lying around the Bougainvillea pool.
The classes at the Gallery are held for children and adults separately, and run for two hours. The children had their turn when they did a class with Greg Ward last month. I think it is my turn, this time around.
