Great Barrier Feast with Guillaume Brahimi
We are gearing up for a major cook-off this weekend at qualia’s Great Barrier Feast. Guillaume Brahimi is travelling north from his iconic restaurant at the Sydney Opera House Guillaume at Bennelong, to present a showpiece degustation dinner this Saturday night in qualia’s Long Pavillion restaurant.
Waiting for his old mentor will be qualia Head Chef Alistair Waddell. Alistair has been at qualia for three years, taking over as head chef from Jane-Therese Mulry in December 2011. Prior to qualia, Alistair was Chef de Partie at the two-hatted Bistro Guillaume in Melbourne. Alistair will present his welcome dinner on Friday night.
I can’t wait to sample Guillaume’s French inspired dishes, and I’m looking forward to Ali’s first Great Barrier Feast at the head of the qualia kitchen. Of course there will be the AEG Master Classes as well as some entertainment on the side from emcee Simon Thomsen and wine guru James Halliday.
Brace yourselves for a wine and food extravaganza this weekend.
