Hit the Golf Driving Range
The Golf Driving Range is in Palm Valley activities precinct and we have often passed it on the way to the Quad Bikes or the walking tracks. We decided to stop in last week and the boys (big and small) had a bit of a hit.
The Driving Range has 8 bays to tee from and a landing zone as big as a lake. In fact, it is a lake. There are prizes if you manage to get a hole in one on one of the five floating ‘greens’ ranging from a bucket of balls on the 60m hole 5 to a Jet Ski Safari on the 175m hole 1. They have a chip and putt area too, plus a range of drinks available if you work up a thirst. Golfers’ concentration will be tested periodically by the busy Great Barrier Reef Airport that runs alongside (what is life without a challenge?).
The all-weather driving range is open from 10am to 5pm and has golf clubs for adults and children. I’d suggest it as a warm up before taking on the Hamilton Island Golf Club course on Dent Island or if you are on a family holiday with kids aged 8 and up.
