School holidays are here again – how on earth are we a quarter of the way through the year already?? Easter weekend is upon us, and the ubiquitous Easter Eggs are impossible to avoid. Of course the problem we face on the Island is that unless you have a fridge in your parents-secret-hiding-place then you risk being left with a puddle of chocolate, rather than an egg.
We had heard that the Easter Bunny would be making an appearance on Easter Sunday at various places around the island, and low and behold I saw him near the marina. Then, suspecting he might make an appearance at the Kids Fun Zone at the Bougainvillaea Marquee beside the beach, we rolled up with high hopes. And there he was with the activities team, arriving in true Hamilton Island style on the back of a buggy with a basket full of eggs. I hope he had an ice-pack in his basket (and another inside his suit!!). Children spilled-out from all the Hamilton Island accommodation to get their eggs and jump on the bouncy castle.
On a more traditional note, rounding out the Easter celebrations tonight is a service at Hamilton Island’s All Saints Chapel with Rev Terry Ayling at 7pm.
