Bliss at Spa wumurdaylin

Jacqui Smith Day Spa Wumurdaylin

Manager of Spa wumurdaylin - Jacqui Smith

What a sublime way to spend an afternoon. I entrusted myself to Nicole at Spa wumurdaylin for a 90 minute facial that had me so relaxed that the condition lasted for the rest of the day. From my greeting at the door by Maja to the lovely, private ‘withdrawing room’ after my treatment, Spa wumurdaylin was flawless.

I confess to having a weakness for pampering. If my schedule (and wallet) allowed it, I’d take up residence in the day spa. I’d love to take a relaxation holiday at least once a year, and while I’ve certainly felt relaxed and catatonic during spa sessions elsewhere, I have never fallen asleep. Until today that is.

My therapist Nicole started our session with details of the lovely Waterlily products used by Spa wumurdaylin. An Australian made botanical line, rich in essential plant oils and extracts, Waterlily products smell divine. My Fruit Enzyme Facial incorporated ingredients such as white mulberry, lemon rind, hibiscus flower, vine leaf, Italian neroli blossom, Brazilian rosewood and Moroccan rose – and that was just in the serum!

The spa itself is beautifully appointed in earth, grounding colours and textures – a retreat away from the bright,  Queensland heat. I love the way they have incorporated the green dragonfly motif into the décor. The spa ritual was sublime. The foot massage with the spearmint and ginko foot treatment, and the whole body approach to the facial was lovely. Nicole’s touch was soothing and delicate, and I think that was the point when I nodded off…

As Nicole walked me out she asked how my skin felt. I told her that it felt like it wasn’t there. I felt like I had melted into a puddle of bliss, and that I was flowing down the hallway instead of walking! I didn’t want to leave.
