Hamilton Island has excellent medical facilities that many towns around Australia would be glad to have. And in situations where further care is required, CQ Rescue  undertakes air evacuations from Great Barrier Reef Airport on Hamilton Island to Mackay Base Hospital. CQ Rescue covers Central Queensland including the Whitsundays and the Great Barrier Reef.

CQ Rescue is one of the charities that Hamilton Island supports, with corporate sponsorship from Hamilton Island and qualia. Many Hamilton Island staff also make their own contributions to the service directly from their salary.

The Island undertakes several fundraising projects each year in support of CQ Rescue. The upcoming CQ Rescue Sportsman’s Dinner, which is being held on Saturday 3rd March is one of them.

The 2012 CQ Rescue Sportsman’s Dinner is a black tie dinner being held at the beautiful Hamilton Island Golf Club on Dent Island and of course all proceeds raised from the evening will be donated to CQ Rescue.

As part of the evening, there will be two special guest speakers, Andrew Blades (Rugby Union) as well as Katrina Robertson (World Champion Power lifter). There will also be raffles, auctions and lucky door prizes on the night. This year’s major raffle prize is the WESTERN PLAIN ULTIMATE ZOO ADVENTURE, valued at $10,000!

Bookings are essential. Tickets cost $110 pp and include ferry transfers to Dent Island, champagne on arrival and a 3-course dinner. For tickets, please call Chris at the Golf Shop on 07 4948 9760.
