Meet in Paradise
I saw the Hamilton Island Golf Course featured in MICENET magazine, the meetings, incentives, conventions and event publication. I tend to forget that Hamilton Island attracts many conferences, but we frequently see groups of meeting attendees around the resort beach area, where the Conference Centre and other meeting rooms are located.
The other day we were swimming at the Bougainvillea Pool when we watched a large group walking along the paths to the Marquee where a buffet lunch had been set. I hope it was a small consolation that they were able to enjoy the gorgeous beach views while they ate, even if they weren’t able to join us for a swim!
Perhaps the delegates took solace in the thought of a post-conference relaxation holiday once the business had been done! I know that many conferences offer excellent partners programs, which suit Hamilton Island to a tee with the day spa’s, diving, the yacht club, Great Barrier Reef cruises, Whitsunday Island tours and dozens of other activities on offer.
The MICENET article gave an overview of a private dinner event on Dent Island for an incentive group, where they had a bit of a ‘progressive’ drinks tour around the island before sitting for a spectacular dinner. The event organiser was delighted with how things went and is worried how to top the experience next year!
