Clownfish Club Childcare Sorts out the Kids
In order to attend the Great Barrier Feast for two nights running I need to get my baby-sitters organised. That’s where the Clownfish Club comes in.
The Clownfish Club is Hamilton Island’s childcare centre. As well as looking after kids during the day, they also organise babysitters on the island for guests (and residents). All sitters have Blue Cards with the associate police checks and are a combination of Hamilton Island staff and residents. There is usually great availability, though if you are staying at Hamilton Island during one of our great events, such as Audi Hamilton Island Race Week, you might want to book in advance. You can phone the Clownfish Club on 07 4946 8941.
The clownfish club offers another child-care option during the day. They can take care of kids aged from 6 weeks to 14 years in two purpose built, and newly refurbished, rooms. Kids can play inside with the games, do arts and crafts, watch some TV, play outside or participate in supervised excursions around the island from their base near the main pool.
Clownfish is open from 8.30am until 5pm. Full day sessions are available, and sessions can be booked from 8.30am – 11.30am or 2pm – 5pm. Alternately kids can do a 5 hour, half-day session starting at either 8.30am or 12pm.
This gives parents and caregivers plenty of time to explore the Great Barrier Reef on their own, or just relax around the pool (or in one of the day spas) in peace. Because lets face it, even if you are on holiday with the children, it is still nice to have some time out for a fishing holiday or spa holiday too!
